What can one tree do? Iceland’s luthier Hans Johannsson has created his first quartet of matching instruments from the same tree.
Each instrument is named after the elements- Earth, Air, Fire, Water.
Come hear these powerful voices speak for the first time as one in this concert by Iceland and U.S. based QuartetES. Program: Schubert’s Quartettsatz, Selected Folksongs in Counterpoint by Florence Price, Quartet No. 11 “Northern Lights” by Elena Ruehr, and Dvorak’s “American” Quartet Op. 96.
QuartetES:
Anton Miller and Ertan Torgul, violins
Rita Porfiris, viola
Jennifer Kloetzel, cello
